Eyelash extensions

Eyelash extensions:
Eyelash extensions are a cosmetic application used to enhance the length, curl, fullness, and thickness of natural eyelashes. The extensions may be made from several materials including mink, silk, synthetic. The main method of applying the extensions is by using a cyanoacrylate adhesive to apply the extension to the natural lash 1-2 mm from the base of the natural eyelash, never making contact with the eyelid.

Types and style of lashes:
Lashes that are made from this material are strong and have a natural glossy sheen. Moreover, they also retain their curl better. False eyelashes and semi-permanent eyelash extensions both enhance the length and volume of eyelashes, although they differ in various ways.
Classic lashes are a 1:1 ratio of one extension applied to one natural lash.
Hybrid lashes are classic lashes and volume fan lashes mixed together. Hybrid Lashes - The hybrid set involves both classic individual eyelash extensions and volume fans mixed together for the ultimate in fluffy, textured lashes. Also referred to as a ‘mixed set’, they offer a thicker, denser look than classic lashes, but without the uniformity and softness of a typical Russian volume set.
Volume lashes are fans 2-8 thin eyelash extensions that make a fan shape to allow for a look of full fluffy lashes.
Mega volume lashes are fans 9-12 or more super-thin eyelash extensions.
Pre-made fans are ready-made volume eyelash extensions. They are arranged on the sticker strip for easy pick-up and quick application.

Process:
Because an average person might have anywhere from one hundred to two hundred lashes per eye, it can take from one to three hours to attach a full, new set. The amount of lashes one can put on varies upon the existing natural eyelashes. Because we lose natural eyelashes every day the eyelash extensions usually last between 3–4 weeks and during that time period, natural lashes start falling out or thinning. Maintaining a full set of eyelashes requires a refill every 2–3 weeks or a partial set every four weeks. If done correctly, there should be no damage to the natural lashes. It is important to find a trained professional to preserve lash growth and reduce the chance of eye complications.

Lash Lift:
Lash Lift or more commonly called an eyelash perm, push up and set the shape of your naturals lashes. The treatments instantly gives them, lift, separation without the use of extensions or any harmful chemicals.

Process:
Lashes are treated with a perm solution which is then followed by the neutralizer and sometimes depending on which system you use will have a nourishing oil as the last step to recondition and strengthen the lashes. Each being left on for about ten to fifteen minutes. Traditionally when lash perming was introduced a soft like sponge in the shape of a rod would be placed at the base of the lashes where the lashes would take on its new shape. Although, in recent years people have now started using a silicone pad that is placed on your eyelid. There is small, medium, or large silicone pads depending on the natural length of your lashes or how curly you would like them to be. This new form or perming lashes compared to the original sponge rod creates more of a natural shape and curve to the lashes. The original way of perming lashes which is still done oftentimes gives less of a natural curve or shape to the lash.

Once your lashes have been applied (by a special glue that does not harm the lashes) to the perm rod or silicone pad the perming solution is applied to the upturned lash, and then it is left to set for ten to fifteen minutes, followed by the neutralizer which is also left on for ten to fifteen minutes. In certain systems there will be a nourishing oil as the last step, this nourishing oil also helps to break up the glue that was used to place the lashes on the silicone pad making it easier for the removal of the silicone pad. Once the silicone pad has been removed the eyelids and lashes are cleansed of any residue left over. The over all procedure takes about 30-45 minutes to perform.
The results may lasts for two to three months. The chemical reaction breaks and reforms the bonds of the hair. This reaction, softening the lash's inner structure between the protein chains of the hair. The hair swells, stretches and softens, then is molded around the shape of the perm rod or silicone pad to form a curl.
